Blogs for the Classroom
Blogs are an interesting way to use technology in the classroom. I feel as if they are more or less a professional social media. For my future classroom I could use a blog to have students research a related science topic to the lesson and have them publish a blog post about what they learned. Some examples could be jobs in that area, a specific cycle studied or part of a cell. In some I could require finding a video or cool images that help explain the topic more. Like this class, I could have the students interact with each other through commenting on each others blog posts. I think the students would like that because most students these days like the use of technology. Blogs create an area for creativity and growth that the students would be able to use and push their knowledge and interactions, while a google doc just gives a place to type. In biology many topics need to be covered, so a restraint with the blogs would be that I may not have space/time in a unit to include them. Check this cool science vid : cells are cool!

Learner Analysis #1 Hannah Montana/Miley Cryus
I am going to do a character analysis of the character, Miley Stewart/ Hannah Montana from the T.V. show Hannah Montana. The show aired March 24, 2006-January 16, 2011. I would say that the character is a quite average school student, especially since she is living a double life, so most of the time she is just catching up in school. When Miley is normal Miley, she has a normal socioeconomic status, being white, living in California, with her father as a famous country singer. One thing that affects Miley/Hannah is not having her mother because she is dead, and is only raised by her father. When she is Hannah, she is living the celebrity life, so that is her status during those times. But when she is not performing she is an average girl trying to get through middle/high school. At school Miley participates like an average student would occasionally cause trouble by doing silly things, see the video below. Miley comes up with a bone song to study for a topic she had been struggling with.
Miley Bone Dance . Miley even encounters bullying in high school, which is an unfortunate, yet typical high school thing most students deal with. Check out this clip. Miley is usually with her 2 best friends when at school, Oliver and Lilly. When Miley is Hannah, or simultaneously she has interests in writing song lyrics, singing, and performing. When she is just Miley, she hangs with Oliver and Lilly, hitting up the beach, going shopping, and encountering triumphs and trials of love and fun. If she was in my class I would try to use i-pads in my class with cool chemistry apps, that I've used before. These would include periodic table ones, atoms in motion, socrative, and many more. She has no special learning needs. I would say this student would be college ready.

About Me
Hello, Hola, Hi!
My name is Danielle Misovich. I am from Dearborn, Michigan a suburb of Detroit. I like to say I am from Detroit, because I basically am, Michigan Ave is 5 blocks away from my house. I come from a decently large family. My mom and dad raised me and my 4 other siblings. I am the oldest, and my younger sister, Liz (20) is my best friend since she was born. My mom jokes she "raised monsters" because we are so close and sometimes exclude her (no worries we love our mom) After her are my three super cool brothers, Benjamin (18), Joseph(16), and Daniel(14), and Champ (2.5 years). Champ is our dog, but we call him black brother because he has black hair and we are all blonde. He is my favorite person ever, and I say person because he is more than just a dog. Champy also has pretty blue eyes. You might have noticed all of my siblings names are biblical, so yes we are a very strongly raised Catholic family, hence why my parents sent us to catholic school our whole lives. I loved every minute of it. Fun fact, my mom let me choose my youngest brothers name, so I didn't care obviously that we basically had the same name. I am clearly obsessed with my family, we compare our dynamics to the Kardashians but minus all the fortune & fame, and are rather "rich on love". So if we ever had a T.V. show it would be called "Messin' with the Misos". And yes many of our friends and family would tune into that.
I have always loved science, so that is why I earned a degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Not only are my teach-able majors complete, but I also have my MTTCs passed in both subject areas. My 10th grade biology teacher was so amazing and one of the people who inspired me to pursue teaching. The other person was my mother. My high school chem teacher was so awesome too, even though his class was such a challenge. But I am a sucker for challenges and proving people wrong. On a side note, I was that kid in high school who wore fake nerd glasses to be "smarter" in chemistry, so you could say I enjoy being a joke-ster.
In general you can catch me hanging out with my friends, because I love socializing and getting to know people. I enjoy singing and dancing around in my room with my sister or any of my friends or family. I love the beach whether on a lake or ocean or river. Any body of water puts a smile on my face. I love swimming.
During this school semester, you can find me TA-ing at GR UPrep, being a reading interventionist for GRPS, MLK, and taking classes at GV. On the weekends I most likely will be porch chilling at my apartment, until the weather prevents it, and obviously doing homework, projects, and lesson plans. In the classrooms I have been in we have used ipads, nooks, laptops. On these devices we have used various apps and websites, such as kahoot.
